Ariana Grande talks about hosting the Christmas episode of Saturday Night Live, and gushes over Cher, calling the legendary singer “just brilliant” after meeting her for the first time.

But with a closer look, it was clear that the dress not only looked like it was from the ’70s, it was from the ’70s. Furthermore, it was designed by the beloved Bob Mackie for the one and only Carol Burnett, who wore it on a 1973 episode of the Carol Burnett Show —a sketch comedy series that ran from 1967 to 1978.

Cher last performed as Musical Guest in 1987, and while she did bring the house down with "If I Could Turn Back Time" during the SNL50 Homecoming Concert, this is her first time back as a headliner. Conveniently, her most recent album was 2023's "Christmas."
