Captain America star Anthony Mackie has shared some new insights about Avengers: Doomsday. Mackie plays Sam Wilson/Captain America in the MCU, with the character’s last outing being in 2025’s Captain America: Brave New World.

Feige was speaking to the official Marvel website about The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which is now in theaters. It’s the final piece of the puzzle before Avengers: Doomsday comes out in December 2026, and Feige confirmed that the home of the Fantastic Four won’t just play a role; it’ll be a central meeting spot for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Anthony and Joe Russo, who directed The Fantastic Four: First Steps post-credits scene, are actively shooting Avengers: Doomsday. The Russo brothers are also officially set to helm Avengers: Secret Wars, which will have its principal photography separately from Avengers: Doomsday.
