"Basic Instinct" writer Joe Eszterhas is writing an "anti-woke" reboot of the film for Amazon MGM, with Sharon Stone expected to return.

Original screenwriter Joe Eszterhas has a new 'Basic Instinct' script, 33 years after the Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone-starring erotic thriller.

Amazon MGM and producer Scott Stuber have obtained the rights to relaunch Basic Instinct, Entertainment Weekly has learned. Screenwriter Joe Eszterhas, who penned the original 1992 erotic thriller, is on board to write the project. Stuber, Nik Nesbit, and Craig Baumgarten will produce the film.
