The Crescent City Connection bridge partially reopened Wednesday afternoon after historic snowfall blanketed New Orleans, though city officials still advise residents to avoid using it.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has closed all Crescent City Connection Bridge lanes in both directions as of 6:45 p.m. Wednesday due to icy conditions. The bridge will remain closed until further notice as officials monitor roadway conditions.

The state closed the Crescent City Connection Wednesday night after briefly opening one lane in both directions earlier that afternoon. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development said the bridge was closed at the request of Louisiana State Police and the New Orleans Police Department.
