The Blue Ghost lunar lander, built by the Texas-based company Firefly Aerospace for NASA, launched to space on Jan. 15, and is slated to attempt a challenging moon landing on March 2. Now in Earth's orbit, the robotic craft has opportunities to capture poignant solar system imagery.

A day before sharing the clip, Firefly said that the lander had travelled more than 3,54,000 km and sent 1.4 GB of data. Blue Ghost will spend 25 days orbiting the Earth 3.5 times. It will spend four more days in lunar transit and 16 days in the Moon's orbit before attempting a touchdown in the Mare Crisium region.

Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lander is healthy on its way to the moon, and even witnessed a solar eclipse from space when Earth passed in front of the sun as seen from the spacecraft.
