The Oilers scored the final three goals to beat the Panthers in Edmonton and take the first game of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final.

McDavid won the Conn Smythe last season, even though the Oilers lost to the Florida Panthers in seven games in the Cup Final. He leads the playoffs with 28 points (six goals, 22 assists) in 17 games this season, but Draisaitl is right behind with 27 points (nine goals, 18 assists) in 17 games.

Draisaitl provided the heroics, scoring on the power play with 31 seconds left in the OT period after Tomas Nosek’s penalty for putting the puck over the glass. The goal was his third in overtime this year in the playoffs, tying the record for a single postseason, after Draisaitl had six during the regular season.
