Emma Raducanu returns to action in the second round of the Madrid Open this afternoon, where she’ll face Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk.The Brit registered a gritty 7-6, 6-4 win over Suzan Lamens, a Dutch player who has risen up the rankings recently and reached the semi-finals of the clay-court Rouen Open last week.

Emma Raducanu is out of the Madrid Open in the second round following defeat by Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk. The British number two looked set to mount a comeback in the second set but 24th-seed Kostyuk pulled away to win 6-4 2-6 6-2. Raducanu was making her return from a month-long absence from competitive matches.
