Brad Marchand scored on a deflected shot at 15:27 of overtime and the Florida Panthers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-4 on Friday night to cut their deficit in the Eastern Conference semifinal series to 2-1.

Following the 2-0 loss in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Second Round, Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews delivered a stern message to his teammates about the Florida Panthers, led by Brad Marchand and Matthew Tkachuk.

Aleksander Barkov scored in the first period for the Panthers after the Maple Leafs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, a tally that helped spark Florida the rest of the game after the team looked flat in the opening six minutes. John Tavares scored twice for Toronto, while Matthew Knies opened scoring for the Maple Leafs 23 seconds into the game.
