American Chris Gotterup will have an extended stay in the U.K. after winning the Scottish Open and earning a spot in next week's British Open.

Gotterup finished 15-under at one of the more fun tournaments on the calendar, two clear of both Marco Penge and Rory McIlroy. It marked the second PGA Tour win for Gotterup and notably clinched him a spot in next week’s Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

The Genesis Scottish Open delivered one of the best stories of the year in 2024 when Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre birdied the 72nd hole to win in his native country. It was a magical moment when the man from Oban drained the 22-footer and all of Scotland started to celebrate.
