The 20th anniversary of the God of War series is upon us, and PlayStation has just announced a range of new merch and updates to celebrate – but, sadly, the announcements do not include the long-awaited remaster of the original PS2 and PS3 games.

Santa Monica Studio has shared a new set of classic skins, weapons, and items will be added to God of War Ragnarok next week to celebrate the iconic series' 20th anniversary. For PS5 and PS4, a free patch will introduce a Dark Odyssey Collection that contains a skin inspired by one from God of War 2 that you got for beating it on God Mode.

Sony detailed all of the goodies included in its God of War 20th anniversary plans in a PlayStation.Blog post. Dark Odyssey is the real headline here, as it includes a war chest of cosmetic treats for all God of War Ragnarök owners across PlayStation 5 and PC. It’ll arrive as a free update March 20.

While fans have been holding out hope for a remaster of Kratos' classic God of War adventures, Sony apparently has other plans — with freebies for fans but no classic return
