After five seasons with New York Rangers, 25-year-old defenseman K’Andre Miller has a new team and new eight-year, $60 million contract.

For the first five seasons of his NHL career, K’Andre Miller was a fixture on one side of the New York Rangers rivalry with the Carolina Hurricanes. In fact, Miller played a huge role when the Rangers knocked the Hurricanes out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2022 and 2024

In the trade, the Rangers acquired a conditional 2026 first-round pick, a 2026 second-round pick, and defenseman Scott Morrow in exchange for Miller, who was a restricted free agent. Miller signed an eight-year contract with the Hurricanes that carries an average annual value of $7.5 million.
