The Kilmar Abrego Garcia case has put Maryland in the national spotlight and tests the power of all three branches of federal government.

Sen. Chris Van Hollen said he was boarding a flight to El Salvador where he hopes to meet with officials to discuss Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s return.

The senator hoped to visit Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia at the maximum security prison where he is being held. He also hoped to talk to Salvadoran officials about securing Abrego Garcia’s release.
