Chris Paul is returning to Los Angeles, the team announced Monday. The 40-year-old guard and 12-time All-Star has reportedly agreed to a one-year, $3.6 million deal with the LA Clippers. Paul previously played with LA for six seasons from 2011-17, leading them to the playoffs each year.

The veteran point guard wants to win and be close to his family in L.A., and the team is in need of a ball handler, even though it will be mostly as a reserve.

On a Tuesday conference call reported on by Beth Harris of the AP, Los Angeles president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank told reporters Beal would cede his No. 3 jersey to Paul.
