For many immigrant families in Minnesota, sending a child to school each day requires faith that one of the thousands of federal immigration officers deployed around the state won’t detain them

MINNESOTA DRAWDOWN: Border czar Tom Homan said at a news conference this morning in Minneapolis that the Trump administration is withdrawing 700 immigration agents from enforcement operations in the state. The announcement comes after the Border Patrol’s Gregory Bovino was removed as head of the operations following a series of deadly incidents.

The administration is changing course in the Twin Cities, as judge orders release of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos.

A judge ordered the release of Liam Conejo Ramos and his father, Adrian Alexander Conejo Arias, on Saturday after they were taken into custody Jan. 20.

About 130,000 people without legal immigration status reside in Minnesota, as opposed to 2.1 million in Texas and 1.6 million in Florida.

"Since Trump dislikes Minnesota so bad and we're so out of control, let's join Canada," former Governor Jesse Ventura said.
