The Philippine National Police (PNP) assured Thursday it would maintain the peace and order in the country amid the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte. In a press briefing, PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said impeachment is a political exercise of Congress that needs to be respected.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. denied on Thursday, February 6, having any involvement in the impeachment raps against Vice President Sara Duterte.

Over one-third of lawmakers from the House of Representatives have andorsed an impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte, enough for the complaint to be approved in the plenary transmitted to the Senate.
