East Tennessee school closings and delays: See what districts canceled classes Wednesday
Due to the continued low temperatures, many schools around East Tennessee are closed or delayed on Wednesday, Jan 22. The temperatures are expected to be "dangerously cold" and well below 20 degrees across East Tennessee on Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. A cold weather advisory is in effect through 10 a.m.
Tennessee school closures continue amid cold weather
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Schools across the Midstate are still managing extremely cold conditions and icy roads this week. Although warmer conditions are expected soon, several counties continue to report dangerous road conditions, prompting the school districts to keep children home at least through Thursday.
Following Friday's winter snowstorm, icy roads and low temperatures have caused another round of school closures and delays.
Barring closures, many schools will be back open on Tuesday, when the temperature is expected to dip down to 10 degrees.
