Suspect's vehicle found in Sibley County as search intensifies for Vance Luther Boelter, wanted in connection with fatal shooting of Minnesota lawmakers in targeted attack.

The judge presiding over the upcoming burglary trial of state Sen. Nicole Mitchell is postponing the trial given the slaying of Rep. Melissa Hortman, who was fatally shot along with her husband in their home Saturday morning.

Boelter, 57, arrived in federal court in an orange jumpsuit and slippers and was unshackled as he sat next to a defense lawyer, according to a report.

The suspect, identified by authorities as Vance Luther Boelter, posed as a law enforcement officer to gain access to the victims' homes.

She remembers friendlier encounters with Boelter and his wife before Sunday night arrest for killing of former House Speaker Melissa Hortman.

Prosecutors said the suspect, who faces federal murder charges in the attacks on two lawmakers, had visited the homes of two other politicians on his target list. A man accused of assassinating a Minnesota state lawmaker and shooting another will face federal murder charges,
