Novo Nordisk’s new Wegovy pill hit the market this week. The Danish drug maker, best known for GLP-1 injections like Ozempic and Wegovy, is now the first company to manufacture and receive FDA approval for an oral GLP-1 pill for weight management.
The weight loss drug Wegovy is now available as a tablet in more than 70,000 U.S. pharmacies as well as select telehealth providers. The Food and Drug Administration recently approved an oral GLP-1 medication for the treatment of obesity and weight management.
The first GLP-1 oral pill is now available at pharmacies nationwide. The Wegovy pill was approved by the Food and Drug Administration on December 22.
