Paris' centuries-old Louvre Museum — home of da Vinci's iconic Mona Lisa — is getting an $800 million makeover, and American visitors will have to help pay for it.

Now that Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece is moving to another room at The Louvre, other Renaissance masterpieces hanging in the same space by Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese may finally get their due.

To tackle the problem, French President Emmanuel Macron announced a list of projects on Tuesday 28 January. These include moving The Mona Lisa, the famous painting by Leonardo da Vinci.

France's president says a second museum entrance will be built, while non-EU residents will also pay more to visit.
