Major airports across the country are experiencing delays as the government shutdown enters its 37th day, the longest in American history.

The Federal Aviation Administration is forcing airlines to cut 10% of their flights at 40 of the busiest airports across the nation to reduce pressure on air traffic controllers during the ongoing government shutdown and ensure that flying remains safe.

With the government shutdown continuing, concerns that travelers could face increased TSA delays at key airports are coming to reality in Houston, Newark, and New York, among other locations. Both Hobby and Bush Airports in Houston reported delays on November 2 at security checkpoints.
