Figure skating is one of the most popular events at the Winter Olympics. But many only follow it every four years, which can make it confusing when the rules change — as they do annually. Most of the names also are new since 2022.

Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva was back on the ice for the first time in four years over the weekend, when the 19-year-old finished sixth in the semifinals of the Russian Jumping Championships.

Team USA's figure skating team is led by Alysa Liu, Amber Glenn and Ilia Malinin, along with the ice dancing team of Evan Bates, and Madison Chock.
