A twin-engine Cessna 414 crash off Point Loma in San Diego resulted in the deaths of all six on board, including a father and his three sons.

A Cessna 414 crashed into the Pacific Ocean off San Diego, killing all six aboard shortly after takeoff. The pilot issued a mayday call, citing difficulty maintaining heading and altitude. The plane failed to reach a nearby naval base for an emergency landing.

The Coast Guard said watchstanders at the Joint Harbor Operations Center in San Diego were initially informed of the crash around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, June 8. The search was suspended at 10 a.m. local time on Tuesday.
