Cory Sandhagen is intent on fulfilling his dreams. Often the bridesmaid but never the bride, Sandhagen put forth one of his most impressive wins to date, dismantling former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo in the main event of UFC Fight Night.

The perennial bantamweight contender made a statement on Saturday in the main event of UFC Des Moines, stopping former two-time flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo in the second round at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.

Cory Sandhagen knew exactly what he was doing grappling with Deiveson Figueiredo. Saturday’s UFC Des Moines bantamweight main event ended in ugly fashion when a Sandhagen attack resulted in Figueiredo having to tap out to a leg injury in the second round (the official decision was a TKO win for Sandhagen).
