MARTA says icy patches remain on some of the routes and officials are working to reassess the roads to determine when the routes will reopen.

ATLANTA — Atlanta's MARTA transit system is set to resume bus, mobility, and streetcar services on a phased schedule beginning Sunday, Jan. 12. Passengers are encouraged to stay updated on real-time service changes through the official MARTA website, itsmarta.com.

MARTA announced bus and streetcar services had been paused due to hazardous road conditions. The transit agency said rail service was operating on its weekday schedule and mobility services were being scaled back to prioritize “pre-booked life-sustaining medical trips.”

Snow came across much of the south and eastern portions of metro Atlanta on Tuesday, and freezing temperatures have left icy conditions across large stretches of the region. It wasn't a lot of snow-- about a half inch to an inch and a half in most parts -- but it iced over and has remained icy overnight where it wasn't cleared.
