The U.S. Office of Special Counsel said opened an investigation into former Special Counsel Jack Smith and whether he violated the Hatch Act.

Former special counsel Jack Smith, who was involved with probes into Donald Trump, is being investigated by the Office of Special Counsel.

Former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissmann dismissed the likelihood that criminal charges would be brought against former special counsel Jack Smith, saying that would be the “last thing” President Trump would want.
