A police officer has denied raping three different women and indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 14. PC Joe Lavender, who works for West Yorkshire Police, has been charged with six counts of rape and two counts of indecently assaulting a child.

An accelerated misconduct hearing was told Andrew Haveron failed a drug test on 16 December, while a serving officer, and text messages found on his phone suggested he had obtained drugs from a dealer.

A school teacher has been sacked after a video of him slapping a boy across the face at a local mosque was posted online. The video was posted anonymously in the West Yorkshire social media group by someone who claimed the man was a teacher at Upper Batley High School.

An 18-year-old man has been seriously injured in a suspected targeted shooting in Bradford. West Yorkshire Police received reports just before 18:30 GMT on Sunday that the man had attended hospital with "injuries consistent with a firearms discharge".

A man has been arrested by police investigating the sexual assault of a teenage boy at a bus station in West Yorkshire. The attack happened in public toilets at Leeds City Bus Station at about 21:00 GMT on Monday, according to police.

Police hope to speak to a driver who stopped at the scene of an assault involving a teenage girl in Bradford. The 16-year-old girl was left with head injuries and cuts to her legs and arms following the assault in Park Lane, Keighley, at about 18:30 GMT on 24 January, West Yorkshire Police said.

A man has been charged with the rape and attempted rape of a man in West Yorkshire. Nicholas Moco, 24, of Royal Park Avenue, Leeds, appeared before the city's magistrates' court on Saturday. He has been charged in connection with an alleged incident outside Wharf Chambers, in Wharf Street, Leeds, at about 05:00 GMT on Saturday, 22 February.

Drugs with an estimated street value of more than £1m have been seized in raids across the region, police have said. More than 2,500 cannabis plants, along with weapons including machetes, were seized in Hull, Scunthorpe and Grimsby between 17 and 23 February, Humberside Police said.
