Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs has lifted her blanket veto threat. Republicans and Democrats united on legislation supplying funding for a state agency that provides services for some of Arizona’s most vulnerable residents.

Arizona lawmakers passed a bill on Thursday to plug a gaping budget deficit at the department that serves 60,000 people with disabilities before it ran out of money.

PHOENIX — As the state government in Arizona embarks on Easter weekend on Good Friday, Gov. Katie Hobbs signed 38 pieces of legislation into law and vetoed 33 others that the Republican-controlled legislature sent to her desk.
