Zack Austin scored 10 of his 15 points in the second half and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 2:35 remaining as Pittsburgh executed down the stretch and earned a 73-65 victory over visiting North Carolina on Tuesday night.

North Carolina pushes tempo at one of the fastest paces in the land, looking to score in transition and get high-percentage looks at the rim. The Heels are also very active in the half-court set and fire up plenty of attempts early into the shot clock.

Pitt vs. North Carolina has been a competitive series since Jeff Capel took over at Pittsburgh. The Panthers beat the Tar Heels twice in the 2022-23 season, and North Carolina was left out of the tournament.
