Four people are without a home after a fire tore through a multi-unit house in Akron on Tuesday evening, which also left a dog dead. Two other fires also killed dogs.

Akron firefighters battled two major fires in separate locations about an hour apart, leaving damage to a tire shop and a multi-unit home.

All of the residents at the Davies Avenue home were able to escape. The American Red Cross was notified as investigators work to determine the cause of the fire.

A kitchen fire in Akron killed four dogs and displaced five residents from their home. Firefighters extinguished the blaze and the Red Cross is aiding the victims.
