Officials are still working to assess and address damage from the March 13-16 storm that dropped up to four feet of rain on the island of Maui.

HAWAII - Another Kona Low is impacting Hawaii, bringing additional rain and gusty winds to the island. This comes after an initial storm caused torrential rain and hurricane-force winds, leading to flash flooding around the Aloha State and blizzard conditions in the mountains.

Northern Oahu is under life-threatening flash flooding as heavy rain continues to pour over Haleiwa and Waialua. Roads are cut off, low-lying areas are submerged, and rainfall remains intense. Residen

In Maui, so-called kona storms are affecting the areas where wildfires have grown more frequent and intense, creating a feedback loop of environmental consequences.

The heaviest rain is expected to favor leeward areas, and flash flooding remains a concern because the ground is already saturated.
