Saban will now get to experience Pasadena from his customary seat on ESPN’s “College GameDay.” GameDay announced that it would attend the College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Oregon Ducks on New Year’s Day.

ESPN’s “College GameDay” won’t be in Atlanta for the No. 4 Arizona State vs. No. 5 Texas matchup, but the crew will be live from California for the Rose Bowl. The show will air from the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, running from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET.

ESPN announced huge ratings for the weekend of the College Football Playoff quarterfinals, including for College GameDay and the AltCast.

With the crew of ESPN College GameDay in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl for the matchup between Ohio State and Oregon, that still doesn’t dull down the impact of the rest of the College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchups, which includes Notre Dame vs. Georgia and Texas vs. Arizona State.

ESPN may not have a television contract with the Big Ten any longer, but now that the postseason has begun, the sports media giant seems to be just fine with following Ohio State around. The crew of Desmond Howard (we can hear the scoffs from here),
