With imminent ice and bitter cold gripping metro Atlanta, some popular attractions are closing their doors temporarily.
Sleet began falling in North Georgia on Saturday as an ice storm closed in on metro Atlanta that could knock out power and make travel impossible through Monday morning.

Ice glazes Atlanta: Freezing rain coats metro Atlanta
Freezing rain is currently glazing metro Atlanta, with temperatures holding steady at 32°F and creating "shiny" ice on spots like Georgia 400. Meteorologist Alex Forbes warns of a two-wave system: the current morning freezing rain and a more substantial "Wave 2" arriving later this afternoon as a massive winter storm moves in from the west.
North Georgia could get a winter storm blast this weekend, and preparations are underway by local governments and grocery stores.
