A five-race mid-season competition ultimately will pit two drivers vying for a $1 million prize. The countdown is on and the 67th Daytona 500 is fast approaching. With the 2025 Daytona 500 looming on Feb. 16, the Daytona Beach News-Journal is checking off the boxes on the calendar until the 67th running of the Great American Race.

The Daytona 500 will be broadcast at 2:30 p.m. Eastern on Sunday on FOX. The race will feature 200 laps around the 2.5-mile speedway. This will be the 68th time that the Daytona 500 has taken place at the Daytona International Speedway.
