At least three people have died as severe thunderstorms batter the Southeast and East Coast on Sunday after deadly tornado-spawning storms tore through Texas and Mississippi, ripping off roofs and flattening homes.

One tornado swirled through fields near El Campo, Texas on Thursday, roughly midway between Houston and Victoria. Another twister touched down near Atascocita in Harris County, then moved over Lake Houston.

Capping a year filled with major weather events across Southeast Texas, another round of severe storms and tornadoes wreaked havoc across the area Saturday, leaving one dead and multiple people injured.
