One local student from Wellborn Middle School is getting ready to compete for the third straight time as the Central Texas Champion in the 100 year anniversary for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

A proposed statewide ban on all THC products is causing concern for Texas smoke shops like Smoke De’Pot in Waco, though employees remain hopeful they can stay open by selling alternative items.

The City said Christopher Perez, Justin Wells, Reginald Freeman and Robin Bergerson have all been named finalists for the position.
