On Wednesday one of the Wolverines' unsung heroes, fullback Max Bredeson, made a decision on his future with the program. Widely known for his pancake blocks just past the line of scrimmage, Bredeson was immortalized in a viral social media of him having taken out Ohio State star Jack Sawyer with a crushing block.

One of Michigan football’s most vocal leaders is staying in Ann Arbor. Fullback/tight end Max Bredeson, a team captain this season, announced on Instagram Wednesday he is returning for a fifth season instead of declaring for the NFL draft.

Toledo, Ohio is basically the DMZ of the state with the city having split loyalties between the Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes. The maize and blue tend to have more luck securing top talent from that city than from others within the Buckeye State.

The Wolverines are looking to lure two high-end tailbacks in the 2026 class to Ann Arbor in Mineral (Va.) Louisa County five-star Savion Hiter and Forney (Tx.) four-star Javian Osborne. The maize and blue have pitched both on the idea that they could both come and star in winged helmets, and both seem receptive.
