Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will let you restart the adventure in New Game Plus with a free update coming sometime after launch. It seems the backlash to Infinite Wealth locking the mode behind paid DLC struck a nerve with publisher Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will release the New Game Plus mode for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii as free downloadable content after facing controversy over charging for it in previous game Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Those who create an account by March 7 will receive a special in-game costume in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The costume in question is the Kazuma Kiryu Special Outfit, which lets Goro Majima dress up as the franchise's original protagonist. You can also get this same outfit by signing up for Sega's newsletter by February 25.

Like every publisher in the industry, SEGA wants to keep you captive. To do that, it’s launched a new SEGA Account which will eventually span all of its games but is starting with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

Sega has launched its own account system akin to the Nintendo Account or Ubisoft Connect that will "maximize" its online services and offer various benefits, kicking off with a free costume for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

Sega Account is available now and will eventually let players track their progress across all their Sega games in one place.
