Gardner Minshew shared the texts he's exchanged with Patrick Mahomes, while talking to reporters on Wednesday, Dec. 17, as he prepares to take on the starting quarterback role for the Kansas City Chiefs after Mahomes' ACL tear and surgery.

Mahomes, 30, underwent surgery Monday, one day after suffering the injury in the loss that eliminated the Chiefs from playoff contention and snapped their streak of three straight AFC Championship games. He has already begun his rehab and is returning to the team Friday.

The Browns are in the hunt for a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft, and the Kansas City Chiefs are in a position to help.
