The prosecution in the second trial of Karen Read rested Thursday after about a month of testimony spotlighting evidence from the scene and witnesses who heard the defendant repeatedly say “I hit him” in reference to the killing of her Boston police officer boyfriend.

Karen Read pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the death of Boston police officer John O’Keefe and is facing a retrial after a jury was unable to reach a verdict last year.

The prosecution rested its case Thursday in the Karen Read murder retrial. She's accused in the death of her boyfriend and Boston police officer John O'Keefe. The first trial ended with a hung jury.

Boston police have put out an alert as they search for Adam McCree, a 28-year-old Dorchester man wanted for attempted kidnapping.

Police are looking for the suspect wanted for a sexual assault Wednesday morning at a park in Boston.

The alleged assault was reported at 9:50 a.m. in Paul Revere Park, State Police said. No arrests were reported.
