Erika McEntarfer, the commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, has been fired after releasing a jobs report that angered President Donald Trump.

Bill Beach said the president's suggestions that the jobs report was rigged betrayed a misunderstanding in how those numbers are assembled.

Without evidence, Trump called the data "rigged" and implied that BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer manipulated the numbers "for political purposes."
