Some Texas Democrats are pressing for the release of records from the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking investigation as the Trump administration scrambles

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said he believed Republicans could pick up five seats in the U.S. House of Representatives by redrawing districts in Texas, which could boost his party's odds of defending its thin majority in next year's midterm elections.

Rep. Greg Casar (D-Texas) warned that GOP redistricting efforts in the Lone Star State represent a “five-alarm fire” and urged Democrats to push back. “This is a five-alarm fire, what’s happening in Texas.

The project, which was alloted $40 million earlier this week, features notable Texans Sam Houston, Barbara Jordan, George P. Mitchell and Lorenzo de Zavala.

Republicans currently hold 25 of Texas' seats in the U.S. House of Representatives, while Democrats have 13 seats.
