Norway's Casper Ruud outlasted Spain's Jaume Munar 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7/4) on Saturday to reach the ATP Dallas Open final.Ruud hit a backhand down-the-line winner to grab a 4-2 tie-breaker lead, took a 5-3 edge when Munar was wide with a backhand volley and went to 6-3 on an overhead smash.

Casper Ruud is through to the final of the ATP Dallas Open after a thrilling three-set victory over Spain’s Jaume Munar on Saturday. The world number five triumphed 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7/4) to reach his first ATP final of the year.

Jaume Munar is enjoying a fantastic week in Dallas as the Spaniard has beaten two seeds en route to the semis. After stunning Ben Shelton in the round of 16, he came through a three-setter against eighth seed Matteo Arnaldi on Friday to make it to the semis.

For the third consecutive match in his Dallas Open title defense, Tommy Paul overcame a fellow American to advance in the semis.

Matteo Arnaldi has already beaten one Spaniard as he comes off an outstanding 6-1 6-3 win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. The Italian dominated in every facet as he comprehensively outplayed the Spanish player and now he faces another as he meets Jaume Munar.
