A charge for misdemeanor animal cruelty is pending a hearing in Lynchburg after a viral video led police to investigate.

The Lynchburg Police Department provided an update on an animal cruelty incident that occurred Friday morning.

Police and animal control services moved in on a home at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Riverton on Friday after being tipped off that dozens of cats were living in deplorable conditions inside.
