A Liberal Party of Canada committee voted unanimously on Friday to disqualify former MP Ruby Dhalla from the race to be the next leader.

OTTAWA — Two Liberal leadership committees unanimously decided to disqualify former MP Ruby Dhalla in the race to become leader of the party on Friday, alleging that she breached no less than 10 violations of the rules of the race including inaccurate financial reporting.

The Liberal Party of Canada has disqualified outsider candidate and former MP Ruby Dhalla from the leadership race.

Liberal leadership candidate Ruby Dhalla is denying any wrongdoing as the party withholds contributions to her campaign from 12 donors.

Ruby Dhalla accused the party of taking such action as she was an “obstacle” to the “coronation” of former central banker Mark Carney.She described the allegations levelled by the party as “false, & fabricated”.

Liberal leadership candidate Ruby Dhalla says the party is unfairly targeting her campaign because of issues related to foreign interference from India, something the Liberals say is not happening.

Ruby Dhalla, an Indo-Canadian politician, has been disqualified from the leadership race of Canada 's Liberal Party. This decision effectively ends her bid to become the country's next prime minister. Dhalla expressed her dismay at the disqualification, describing it as "shocking and deeply disappointing."
