Two-way star Shohei Ohtani returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ lineup Sunday for the series finale against the Texas Rangers, activated off the paternity list after his wife gave birth to the couple’s first child in Southern California.

Ohtani and his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, gave birth to their baby daughter over the Easter weekend. The former NL MVP and exclusive member of the 50-50 club announced that his wife gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday, April 19.

Two-way star Shohei Ohtani, fresh off becoming a father, is in the lineup Sunday for the Dodgers’ series finale against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field. Los Angeles reinstated its designated hitter Sunday morning from the paternity list and designated outfielder Eddie Rosario for assignment. Ohtani will hit leadoff against Texas.
