If you go to the Seattle municipal court, you don't need to pick a judge. If you want them to come to your own thing, then yes. Just send the email to schedule your appointment once you have your license (forgot the email address but I can check - we got married in august there). Really nice and quick. Bring $150, they only take cash!

If I am not mistaken, California superior court judges have their own method of removing them from social media so that it is more difficult to get their contact information. Often times when you google a judge, you get only limited results.

Some lawyers use it to suck up to provincial court judges in NL by appealing to ego. But it's Your Honour in Prov Court, and Justice in Supreme Court in NL. AFAIK in Ontario all judges are Justice, Mr. Justice Doe, Madame Justice Roe.
