First observation: never take delivery in Lynnwood. 20 miles away in Bellevue you're saving 0.5%. Second observation: you would save 1.2% by picking up in Spokane and drive 300 miles back to Seattle.

When I leased my first Tesla Model 3 in early 2021, I had to pay the $2400 +/- sales tax and registration separate from the down payment of approx. $4500. This time around in December 2023, I had the option to have the taxes and fees included in the finance.

Oct 28, 2021 · Guys, tax credits are treated like mfr. rebates when it comes to sales tax. I don't know what "before or after tax" means, but the credit does not reduce the tax. So if the car is $55k and the credit takes the price down to $45k, the tax still applies to the $55k figure.

May 7, 2023 · Buying out of state is full of issues. Tax is a big part of it. Not all states even tax new vehicles the same way. In some states it's the standard sales tax all at once, in others it's an ad valorem type tax yearly. And some state (and county) sales taxes are much higher than others. Even a 1% difference is big on a $40,000 vehicle purchase.
