UC application: when should portal activation emails come?

My son submitted back in mid-October – 5 or 6 weeks ago. His confirmation shows he applied to and paid for 7 of the UC campuses. Selective majors include all majors in the Professional colleges along with the College of Engineering. UCLA has a 4 year housing guarantee if the student meets the priority deadlines.

Dec 23, 2011 · <p>I got an email from the university of California application site acknowledging my application to UCLA & giving me a UC ID # six days after I submitted my app & got an acknowledgment from UCLA eleven days after applying saying they had received my app. But I’m applying to theater so I don’t know if the timing is different</p>

Aug 1, 2015 · DS got accepted to UCSD with 3.22 UW, 3.45 W, 3.7 UC gpa and 35 act. However, it was for ICAM (visual arts) which required an art portfolio for admission so his portfolio probably and act probably offset the lower gpa. Also got accepted to UCSC in comp sci and rejected from Uci CS and rejected from Ucla DMA (visual arts with port requirement)

May 3, 2018 · Also back in the 80’s and prior, UCLA was more known for sports (especially basketball) than academics compared to UC Berkeley. It is quite an accomplishment the past couple of decades that UCLA’s academic reputation has ascended to be about on par with UC Berkeley. Today, UCLA is still known for good sport programs.

Jun 11, 2008 · Berkeley is the hardest, then UCLA. </p> <p>As I wrote in post #1, UCLA and Berkeley appear to evaluate an applicant using the same procedures and judgements used at any Top 30 program… not a formula, but an aggregation of impressions from reviewing the entire file – the entire file includes a look at 9th grade performance.</p>
