A UTEP professor is part of the Artemis III team, as NASA plans to land two astronauts on the South Pole of the moon for the first time in history in 2027. Dr. Jose Hurtado is producing geologic maps of this portion of the moon, a critical step in answering questions about the moon’s origin, water resources, and how the surface of planets evolve over time.
