San Diego’s 2012 Big Bay Boom fireworks show became one of the most unforgettable Fourth of July moments in American history—but not for the reason anyone expected. 🎆🇺🇸 On July 4, 2012, a computer glitch triggered approximately 7,000 fireworks to launch almost simultaneously instead of following their planned sequence. What was supposed to be a spectacular 17-minute Independence Day display was over in roughly 30 seconds, creating an enormous wall of color and light that lit up San Diego Bay.
